Planning lighting for a renovation or new build
Lighting is much easier, and cheaper, to get right before the ceilings and walls are closed in.
During the pre-wire stage we can run cabling for pendants over the island, wall lights beside the bed, LED strips under cabinets and outdoor lights on the deck, even if you have not chosen every fitting yet. Switch positions, dimmers and two-way switching are planned around how you move through the home.
For our Kenmore renovation client, being involved from the pre-wire meant the feature lighting at the end dropped straight into place.

Lighting installation FAQs
Can you install lights I have bought myself?
Yes. We install customer-supplied fittings, and we check they are suitable for the location and come with what is needed for safe installation.
Should I replace halogen downlights with LED?
In most cases, yes. LED downlights use far less energy, run cooler and last much longer. We match fittings and dimmers so they work smoothly together.
How high should a pendant hang?
Over a bench or dining table, pendants usually hang so the bottom sits well above head height when seated or working, without blocking views. We confirm on site to suit your fittings and ceiling height.
Can you add lights where there is no wiring?
Yes. We run new cabling through the roof space or walls and add switches where you need them.
Do outdoor lights need special fittings?
Yes. Outdoor and wet areas need fittings with a suitable IP rating, and circuits protected by a safety switch.
Do you do commercial lighting?
