Emergency light testing near you
Emergency light testing FAQs
How often do emergency lights need testing?
At least every six months, including a full discharge test. Results must be recorded in the logbook for the building.
How long does the test take?
The discharge test itself runs for the required duration, typically 90 minutes for each circuit of fittings, plus inspection and reporting time. We plan the visit to minimise disruption.
Will the power be off during testing?
Only to the emergency lighting circuits being tested. Normal lighting and power elsewhere usually stays on.
What happens if a light fails?
We note it in the logbook and either repair it on the spot or provide a quote for replacement, so you can get the site back to compliance quickly.
Who is responsible for testing in a unit complex?
The body corporate is generally responsible for emergency lighting in common areas. Building managers usually arrange testing on the committee’s behalf.
Can you take over from our current provider?
Yes. We review your existing logbook, audit the site and continue the six-monthly schedule without gaps.
