Exhaust fan above the shower
The family had feature lighting in the bathroom, so we fitted a discreet exhaust-only fan above the shower. Steam now clears fast and towels dry quicker.
A good ceiling fan is the cheapest way to stay comfortable through a Brisbane summer. We help you choose the right size and motor, then install it properly: securely fixed to the structure, balanced and wired with the right controls, so it runs quietly for years.
Cool for lessAir conditioning has its place, but a ceiling fan moves air across your skin for a tiny fraction of the running cost. A typical fan draws somewhere between about 15 and 75 watts depending on the motor and speed. A split-system air conditioner can draw well over a kilowatt while it is working hard.
Fans also work brilliantly with air conditioning. Running a fan lets you set the thermostat a few degrees higher and still feel just as comfortable, which cuts the air conditioner’s load. In winter, many fans reverse to gently push warm air down from the ceiling.

QuietModern DC motors are near-silent, use much less power and usually come with a remote and more speeds.
One fitting, two jobs
2-in-1A fan with an integrated LED light replaces an existing ceiling light, so you get airflow and lighting from one point.
Wall controls matter. AC fans need a compatible speed controller, while many DC fans use a remote with a simple wall switch. We match the control to the fan so there is no humming and no early motor failure.
Blade sweep, the diameter the blades cover, is the main thing to get right. Too small and the room stays stuffy. Too big and it is noisy and overpowering. Use this as a starting point and we will confirm on site.
| Room size | Typical rooms | Suggested blade sweep |
|---|---|---|
| Up to ~10 m² | Small bedrooms, studies | 900–1,050 mm |
| 10–20 m² | Main bedrooms, kitchens | 1,200–1,320 mm |
| 20–30 m² | Living and dining rooms | 1,320–1,400 mm |
| Over 30 m² | Open-plan areas, large alfrescos | 1,500 mm or more, or two fans |
Quiet DC fans with a remote and a sleep timer, so you are not reaching for a wall switch at 2am.
Larger sweeps with integrated lights for open-plan spaces, centred on the area you actually use.
Outdoor or damp-rated fans built for coastal humidity and covered outdoor areas.
Fans placed away from cooktops, with easy-clean blades and compact sweeps.
Exhaust fans that remove steam and moisture, ducted outside to help stop mould.
Close-mount hugger fans that keep the 2.1 metre blade clearance.
Angled mounts and extension rods so the fan hangs level and moves air where you sit.
Rooftop and common-area exhaust fans replaced and controlled for quiet, efficient running.
We remove the old fan and check the existing wiring and mounting point, fixing anything that is not safe. Then we install the new fan in the same spot or a better one. Replacing several fans at once is usually the most cost-effective way to do it.
Also updating lighting? See our lighting installation service. We can do both in one visit.

I had a ceiling fan installed and two chandeliers moved and re-fitted. The guys did a great job, not rushing through anything. They planned the whole process beforehand and did a great job tidying up afterwards.

It’s rare that Tradies will show up exactly on time – yet this is exactly what Matthew and Ollie did. Fast & efficient, installing a complete house of wired fire alarms and a new fan.

Usually, yes. An existing ceiling light point can often be used for a fan or a fan with a light. We check that the point and circuit are suitable and that there is something solid to fix to.
We can run new wiring through the roof space to a new point and add the wall control. Access to the roof space affects the time and cost, which we confirm when we quote.
Replacing a fan on an existing point is usually quick. New points, high ceilings or several fans take longer. We give you a fixed price and time estimate upfront.
Wobble usually comes from loose fixing, worn rubber mounts, bent blade arms or unbalanced blades. We re-secure and balance the fan or recommend a replacement if the mount is unsafe.
No. Covered outdoor areas need fans rated for outdoor or damp locations. Indoor fans corrode and can fail in humid, exposed conditions.
We can supply quality fans or install one you have bought. If you supply your own, we check it suits the room and ceiling before installation.
Call 1300 385 599 (Mon to Fri, 8:00am to 4:30pm) or request a quote online. Tell us the rooms and ceiling heights and we will recommend the right fans and give you a fixed price.
