EV Charger Government Grant – who is eligible and what to consider?

Did you know?? – From 2025 – 2028, the Australian Government is offering up to $3,000 for the installation of each new EV Charging plug or portable plug for any eligible business across the country (maximum of up to $21,000 per site!). It is part of the Driving the Nation Fund – an initiative aimed at supporting the Electric Vehicle industry.

The intended outcomes of the DRIVEN Charger Rebate Stream are:

  • increased number of EVs on the roads
  • reduced upfront cost of installing EV charging units at dealerships and EV repairers
  • distributed funding to as many eligible automotive businesses as possible across Australia.
  • support the automotive sector as it begins selling and repairing electric vehicles
  • reduce pollution and support Australia’s target of net zero emissions by 2050.

From 2025  2028, there are various opportunities to apply for this money.

WHO CAN GET IT?

This particular initiative is available for an automotive dealerships and electric vehicle repairers Australia-wide. Fully Wired have been involved with several dealerships around Brisbane in 2025 and expect this to ramp up in the coming months as the next applications open very soon!
